SYSTEM TAKEOVER · GIBRALTAR

Unhappy with your current security provider?

Already have CCTV, an alarm or access control installed? Fortify can assess existing systems and, where compatible, take over their ongoing maintenance and support.

This is not about criticising whoever fitted it

Most systems we take on were installed perfectly competently. Companies move on, priorities change and premises outgrow what they were given. Our job is to tell you what condition your system is in today and keep it working from here — not to run down the people who put it in.

WHY PEOPLE MOVE

The reasons are usually ordinary.

Almost nobody changes provider because of a dramatic falling-out. It is far more often one of these, left to drift for a couple of years.

Nobody has been back since

The system was installed, signed off and never seen again. No service visits, no checks, and no way of knowing whether it still records anything.

Support has gone quiet

The installer has moved on, wound down, or simply has bigger customers now. Calls take days, or are not returned at all.

They are not local

The company that fitted it is off the Rock, so every visit is a scheduling exercise and an urgent fault is anything but urgent.

You have outgrown it

The premises changed, the business grew, or the system was specified for a smaller operation than the one you run now.

THE TAKEOVER ASSESSMENT

Find out what you actually own.

Most owners of an inherited system have never had a straight answer about its condition. The assessment gives you one, in writing, whether or not you go any further with us.

01

We survey what is actually there

An engineer visits, identifies the equipment, checks how it was installed and finds out what still works. Most owners have never been given a straight inventory of their own system.

02

We test it properly

Cameras checked for image quality day and night, recording verified rather than assumed, drives and batteries tested, alarm sensors walk-tested, remote access confirmed.

03

You get a written assessment

What is installed, what condition it is in, what is worth keeping and what is genuinely past helping — in plain language, with no obligation to do anything about it.

04

You decide what happens next

Take out maintenance on what you already own, upgrade the parts that need it, or do nothing at all. The assessment is yours either way.

WHAT WE CAN TAKE ON

Most of it, most of the time.

We work with mainstream equipment across the common makes, and we are used to sites where three different companies have added something over the years. Where a system is locked to a proprietary platform we will find that during the survey and tell you plainly what it limits.

Once a system is on our books it is covered by the same planned maintenance as anything we installed ourselves — the same checks, the same reports, the same response.

SYSTEMS WE INHERIT
  • CCTV — most mainstream recorders and IP cameras
  • Intruder alarms — common panel makes and wireless systems
  • Access control — fob, card and keypad door systems
  • Door entry and intercom, including apartment blocks
  • Systems that mix brands from several installers
  • Cabling and comms cabinets that need putting right
COMMON QUESTIONS

Switching provider — your questions answered.

Do I have to replace everything?

Almost never. A great many systems we inherit need cleaning, configuring and a few parts rather than replacing. We will tell you honestly what is worth keeping — including when the honest answer is that the equipment has reached the end of its life.

Am I tied to the company that installed it?

Generally not for maintenance. The equipment is yours. Where a system is locked to a provider’s proprietary platform or monitoring contract we will identify that during the assessment and explain what it means before you commit to anything.

What if I am still in a contract with them?

Then stay in it until it ends — we are not going to advise you to breach an agreement. Have the assessment now, understand what you have, and use it to decide when the contract comes up for renewal.

What does the assessment cost?

Nothing, and there is no obligation attached. We would rather look at a system and tell you it is in decent shape than sell you something you do not need — that is generally how we end up maintaining it later.

What if my system turns out not to be worth keeping?

We will say so, explain why, and price the alternative so you can compare. You are under no obligation to use us for the replacement, and the written assessment is yours regardless.

NO OBLIGATION
